The Tales of Hamad: an Emirati Boy

Hamad is a 10 year old Emirati boy. He is curious, fun and respectful. He lives with his loving parents and younger sister. In this book series Hamad goes on a journey of discovery of himself, his heritage and everything around him. Each story will see Hamad going on a fun new adventure where he learns a valuable and educational lesson. The subject themes of the stories will vary widely to appeal to different tastes while always being appropriate for this age group and this culture. The topics will include universal issues dealt with an Emirati flavor such as National Day, Eid, bullying, fishing, nightmares, etc. The main distinction will be that all these stories will be set in an authentic Emirati environment with special emphasis placed on preserving Emirati identity, culture and heritage.

UAE, My Homeland:
Hamad learns about patriotism.

​Hamad has a lesson on Patriotism in school but does not fully understand it. He is too shy to ask in class so when he gets home, he asks his father to help him understand the meaning of patriotism. The father explains the seven components which Hamad needs to embrace so he can fully understand his love for his homeland. 

Catch of the Day:
Hamad goes fishing.

Hamad goes on his first fishing trip with his father. On this trip he learns more than just fishing techniques during the long wait to catch his first fish. He learns first-hand about patience and perseverance. More importantly, he learns about the history of fishing in the UAE was and its importance as a way of life and a source of income for his ancestors

The Camel and the Drone:
Hamad confronts his bully.

​Hamad is one of the few students in school who does not own the new popular drone toys and therefore he feels isolated. To make matters worse, children in the school start bullying him when they find out that he owns a pet camel. Hamad finally stands up to his bully by challenging him to an epic race between his camel and his bully's drone to determine once and for all who the winner is.
